Local Implementation Lead for Merthyr Tydfil

Location: Merthyr Tydfil
Salary: £37,670 per annum
Contract Type: Temporary
Position Type: Full Time
Expiry Date: 03/02/2025 09:00

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for the right person to work closely with the People and Communities Team within the Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales. Investing in six places across the UK, the Foundation aims to strengthen small community led organisations and find new ways of designing and resourcing services so that people facing complex issues get the support they need, when they need it and in ways that work best for them.

We are looking for a highly motivated and resilient person to lead the People and Communities work in Merthyr Tydfil. The role requires facilitation, negotiation and diplomacy skills to bring together cross sector systems leaders, alongside young people, to strengthen a preventative focussed pathway in Merthyr that supports the emotional wellbeing of young people.

This will require a solid understanding of the issues faced by partners across the public, Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) and private sectors, alongside knowledge of the complexities faced by young people in Merthyr Tydfil. You will be energetic and enthusiastic with a good eye for detail, enabling us to deliver our emerging programme of work with excellence.

Full and extensive training and support is provided through the team at LBFEW and via peer support from other Local Implementation Leads working across England and Wales.

At Llamau we believe that no young person or vulnerable woman should ever have to experience homelessness. Our mission is to eradicate homelessness for young people and vulnerable women. But for thousands of the most vulnerable people in Wales, homelessness is a frightening reality.

30 years ago Llamau was founded to provide homeless teenagers with a safe place to stay. Since then, we have supported over 67,000 young people, women and their children who are either homeless or facing homelessness.

Many people think the job of a homelessness charity will be to provide accommodation - a safe place to stay. But it is very clear to us that for most people who are facing homelessness, their problems are far more complex than a lack of permanent shelter.

That's why we treat everyone who needs our support as an individual. We recognise their unique strengths and needs and make sure that they are supported to rebuild their futures.

We are a values-led organisation which puts the people we support at the heart of the organisation. Our values mean that we can offer the highest quality support and empathy. Our values are:

  • We Respect
  • We Listen
  • We Encourage
  • We Learn
  • We Don't Give Up
